2018 Annual Symposium Talk and Poster Information

Oral Presentation Information

Oral presentations in both the regular and special sessions will be in 20 minute time slots. Please prepare your talk to be about 15 minutes in duration, which will allow 5 minutes for questions and discussion. There will be four parallel sessions. So that people can move among sessions to hear selected talks, we will ask the session chairs to make sure that all speakers keep on time and that each talk begins at its scheduled time.

Each of the four rooms where oral sessions take place will have a laptop running Windows 10 or 7, with Microsoft Office 2016 (which includes PowerPoint 2016) and Adobe Reader installed.  You can present either as a PowerPoint presentation or as a PDF in Adobe Reader.  We recommend that you make your slides in a 4:3 aspect ratio, in order to make best use of the screen.

A remote slide changer and laser pointer will be provided.  We will NOT support Mac formats and you will NOT be permitted to use your own laptop, tablet, or powerbook.  We suggest that you bring your presentation on a USB thumb drive.  To avoid compatibility issues among different versions of PowerPoint, we recommend that you avoid using fancy animation effects. You should be sure that your presentation is loaded onto the computer in your scheduled room well before the start of your session.

Poster Information

Your poster will be allocated to one of three afternoon poster sessions, each 1.5 hours in duration. You should make sure that your poster is up no later than the end of lunch on the day of your session. Pins and poster boards will be provided. The maximum dimensions allowed for posters are 116 cm (46 inches) wide by 152 cm (60 inches) high.
